Minor Disruptions
My debut show, Minor Disruptions is a piece of playing about the queerness of childhood. Part of the enquiry is the parallel between adult-child and audience-performer relationship; the spectator/adult is actually the one with the power, despite the apparent privileging of the performer/child’s needs.
Developed from the MA Creative Project at Mountivew, this practice-research piece debuted at Maiden Speech Festival in Covent Garden in 2018, played at the Drayton Arms Theatre as part of a Queer Trilogy that I produced, previewed at Theatre503 and the Waitress Festival before a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019, with Paradise Green.
Written and Performed by Katie Paterson.
Originally produced by Lexi Clare.
